Leadership, Democracy, Governance and Peace Building
The National Legislators’ Conference is the first and the largest conference of legislators aiming to generate new ideas and novel concepts to address issues of concern. NLC is a platform that contributes to capacity-building of legislators and engages them in debates on democracy. It leads to informed policy interventions that not only strengthen democracy but also contribute to nation-building.

The National Legislators’ Conference (NLC) Bharat has entered into a partnership with the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in the United States. NCSL is a bipartisan organisation that serves legislators and legislative staff in all 50 states and territories. NLC Bharat and NCSL share a common goal of creating opportunities for lawmakers and staff to share knowledge and ideas, with the aim of helping policymakers make informed decisions that address the needs of their constituents. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NLC Bharat and NCSL is a bilateral agreement that will support and participate in each other’s development and activities, with the aim of building a stronger and more democratic future. NLC Bharat also looks forward to building partnerships with other democratic countries to strengthen the role of legislatures and legislators.
It is the first and the largest conference to address various issues of concern and propagate the ideals of democracy at the National and International levels.
