E. M. S. Namboodiripad

E.M.S. Namboodiripad was a well-known politician and communist leader who lived from 1909 to 1998. When Kerala became the first state in Bharat to elect a communist administration in 1957, Namboodiripad, one of the party’s founding members, was appointed as the state’s first Chief Minister.
Namboodiripad was a fervent supporter of socialism and had a significant impact on Kerala’s political climate. Significant land reforms were put into place by him, along with progressive social welfare policies and efforts to improve the weaker segments of society.
Namboodiripad was a brilliant and prolific writer who wrote numerous books on Marxism, socialism, and Kerala politics. Some of his best-known writings are “History of the Communist Movement in Kerala” and “Selected Works of E.M.S. Namboodiripad.”
The political accomplishments of E.M.S. Namboodiripad, his dedication to social justice, and his intellectual prowess are still appreciated and honored today. He continues to play a significant role in Kerala history and Bharat’s communist movement.
